# Slack

> Connect your Slack workspace to Promptwatch so the agent answers questions in your channels and scheduled chats deliver their results there.

### What the Slack integration does

The Slack integration brings [Agent Chat](/docs/academy/agent-chat) into your Slack workspace, in both directions. You can ask the Promptwatch agent a question from a Slack channel or DM, and a [scheduled chat](/docs/academy/scheduled-chats) can post its results to a channel when something changed. The agent works on the same project data as in the app, so an answer in Slack is the same answer you would get in the chat.

Two restrictions apply up front: only organization owners can connect and configure Slack, and the integration is not available on white-label organizations.

### Connect your workspace

1. Open **Settings → Slack** from the account menu.
2. Click **Add to Slack** and authorize the Promptwatch app in your workspace.
3. Back on the settings page, the connection card shows your connected workspace.

### Point channels at projects

A Slack workspace can serve many Promptwatch projects, so the agent needs to know which project a channel is about:

* **Default project**: the project the agent answers for when a channel has no explicit mapping. When no default is selected, Slack works automatically only while your organization has a single project.
* **Channel project mappings**: under **Channel project mappings**, pick a **Slack channel** and the **Promptwatch project** it should serve, then **Add mapping**. A mapping overrides the default for that channel, so an agency can give each client channel its own project.

### Asking from Slack

Mention the Promptwatch bot in a mapped channel, or send it a direct message, to start a conversation. The agent reads the mapped project's data and answers in the thread. Those conversations show up in the app's chat list as read-only Slack chats, and the **Settings → Slack** page lists them, so owners can review what was asked.

### Delivering scheduled results

A scheduled chat can post its headline and answer to the mapped channel whenever a run finds a material change. The switch lives in the schedule's **Edit** dialog and appears once the schedule's project has a mapped channel. The full flow is in [Scheduled chats](/docs/academy/scheduled-chats).

### After you connect

Ask the bot something you already know the answer to, like your visibility score this week, and check it against the dashboard. Once the pipe is trusted, set up a [scheduled chat](/docs/academy/scheduled-chats) for the questions your team re-asks every week, and let the answer come to the channel instead of the other way around.
