What is BorderxBot?

BorderxBot is Borderxlab's product crawler for Nubestore AI. It visits ecommerce product pages and stores the product information in Borderxlab's database. This is a shopping and recommendation workflow, not a general crawl of editorial pages.

The official BorderxBot page says the crawler can collect product names, descriptions, prices, current promotions, inventory status, variants, and images. Merchants should therefore expect requests to catalog URLs when this bot is active.

Several user-agent forms are documented, including BorderxBot/1.0 (+https://www.nubestore.ai/borderxbot.html) and a Mozilla-compatible form. Each contains the stable BorderxBot token. The record provides no Web Bot Auth signature URL, so a matching header identifies the claimed bot but does not authenticate it.

Borderxlab uses the indexed catalog to generate product recommendations. Its business model includes affiliate programs: a shopper who selects a recommendation is redirected to the merchant's product page, and Borderxlab may earn a commission from a resulting sale.

Crawls may happen in real time or daily, according to the operator. Borderxlab says it rate-limits the traffic and invites site owners to report unexpected request patterns. It does not publish a single fixed crawl interval that applies to every store.

Borderxlab says BorderxBot respects robots.txt. Cloudflare's bot directory records the opposite status, and the page metadata leaves the behavior unknown. The operator's promise is therefore useful but not sufficient for a path that requires a hard access boundary.

A BorderxBot visit can affect whether a product is available to Nubestore's recommendation system and whether its current price or stock information is represented there. The operator page does not say the collected catalog trains a general-purpose AI model. It also does not establish that BorderxBot controls listings in public search engines or unrelated AI assistants.

Relevant for AI search

Is BorderxBot relevant for AI search?

Yes. BorderxBot collects pages for an AI product, so what it can crawl influences how AI systems describe your brand.

BorderxBot fetches, indexes, or retrieves pages for an AI product, so the pages it can reach shape how that system describes your brand and products.

How to handle BorderxBot

A merchant that wants its catalog considered for Nubestore recommendations can allow product pages while keeping carts, customer accounts, and unpublished inventory inaccessible. Check that public product data is current, since BorderxBot records fields such as price and stock status.

To decline all BorderxBot crawling, add:

User-agent: BorderxBot
Disallow: /

Borderxlab states that the crawler follows robots.txt, but Cloudflare assigns it a false flag. Verify the rule against subsequent requests. If the bot continues to reach excluded routes, enforce the policy at the server or edge and send the request details to the contact address on Borderxlab's bot page.

Examples

  • A retailer permits BorderxBot on public product URLs but excludes `/account/` and `/checkout/`, giving the recommendation system catalog access without exposing customer flows.
  • A merchant notices daily requests for price and inventory fields, compares the cadence with Borderxlab's documented behavior, and contacts the operator when the rate rises unexpectedly.
