It's a free GEO inspector for ChatGPT. While you chat, it reveals what ChatGPT actually did behind the answer: every fanout query it searched, which web pages it fetched, which of those were actually cited, the model used, and the full reasoning trail from prompt to answer.
When ChatGPT searches the web, it doesn't run your prompt as-is — it fans it out into multiple rewritten search queries. Those queries decide which pages can even compete to be cited. The extension shows you every fanout query, including site: and official-source variants, so you know exactly what to rank for.
ChatGPT often fetches many more pages than it actually cites in its answer. The extension shows both: every source it retrieved, grouped by domain, and which ones made it into the final answer — including a 'X of Y sources cited' breakdown. That gap is where most GEO opportunities hide.
No. Everything runs 100% locally in your browser. The extension makes no network requests of its own — it only reads the responses ChatGPT already sends to your browser tab. There's no telemetry, no analytics, and captures are kept in memory only; closing the tab discards them.
Neither. The extension is completely standalone — no Promptwatch sign-up, no login. It works with any ChatGPT session, including free accounts, and even when you're not signed in to ChatGPT at all.
