What is IASBot?
IASBot is a recorded advertising crawler identity linked to Integral Ad Science and the former AdmantX service. Its stated function is to analyze pages for advertiser brand safety and suitability. The entry is marked unverifiable, which means a request claiming IASBot cannot be attributed to IAS from the token alone.
Integral Ad Science's current indexing policy names ias_crawler for content rating and certification, plus ias_wombles for invalid-traffic analysis. It does not identify IASBot as an alias for either one. Those official crawler names should remain separate in traffic reports and access rules.
IAS says machine learning is part of its content analysis. That use classifies advertising inventory; it does not turn the crawler into a generative search bot. There is no documented connection between an IASBot visit and AI citations or general-purpose model training.
This entry marks robots.txt support as true. IAS promises strict compliance for ias_crawler and ias_wombles, but its policy does not extend that promise to the exact IASBot token. Compliance for this identity is therefore recorded but not confirmed by current operator documentation.
