What is Promptwatch Bot?
Promptwatch Bot is Promptwatch's own crawler. It identifies itself with the user agent promptwatch-bot/1.0 (+https://promptwatch.com/bot) and only fetches sites that a Promptwatch customer owns or has connected to their account.
It has two jobs. First, it powers the Validate Integration flow: when you connect crawler-log forwarding from your CDN or server, Promptwatch fires a synthetic request to your site with this user agent and then confirms the matching log row arrives end-to-end, so you know your setup actually works. Second, an on-demand variant fetches a page to run SEO, performance, and content audits when you request them inside Promptwatch.
Because Promptwatch Bot only ever visits sites you control, you should not see it crawling third-party properties. If you do, it is most likely a spoofed user agent rather than genuine Promptwatch traffic.
For GEO and SEO teams, allowing Promptwatch Bot is what lets Promptwatch verify your AI crawler-log pipeline and audit your pages. See our guides to AI crawler logs and robots.txt for context on how automated access is managed.
