What is UsercentricsBot?
UsercentricsBot is the web client used by the Usercentrics Data Processing Service Scanner. A site owner starts a scan to find active services and tracking technologies that may need consent. The results help the owner compare what the website loads with the services configured in the Usercentrics CMP.
Usercentrics also describes regular monitoring after the initial setup. Those scheduled visits can produce visible traffic spikes in analytics tools such as GA4. A scan result may reveal a service that was added directly or loaded through another technology, but the site owner still decides how it should be represented in the consent configuration.
Requests include Usercentricsbot/1.0 within a longer browser user agent. Usercentrics recommends matching that substring because the rest of the string can change. It also publishes the scanner's current address pool, while warning that the list can change in the future.
The scanner is a consent-management aid, not an AI crawler. Letting it read a page can improve the customer's view of tracking technologies on that site, but it has no documented effect on AI search results or model training. Blocking it may make a compliance scan incomplete.
