March belongs to YouTube: at 3.30% of Google AI Mode citations it takes double Reddit's share (1.65%) and almost four times LinkedIn's (0.89%). Six of the top seven domains are video, social, or community platforms. AI Mode leans on user-generated and visual content far more than on traditional publishers; Forbes manages only 0.17%.
At the same time, the tracked majors together account for well under 10% of all citations. AI Mode's query fan-out spreads the rest across thousands of smaller domains, keeping the door open for niche sites in a way that classic ten-blue-links rankings never did.

The headline move from February to March is YouTube's surge from 1.88% to 3.30%, a 76% jump in a single month, while TikTok tripled from 0.05% to 0.16%: a clear tilt toward video and short-form sources. On the losing side, Yelp fell from 0.37% to 0.15% and Google's own domain slipped from 0.79% to 0.58%. Reddit (+17%) and Instagram (+31%) also gained ground. How to act on it
- Re-check your citation share every month instead of quarterly. When the #1 source can grow 76% in four weeks, a stale snapshot will send your content investment to the wrong channels.
