LinkedIn LinkedIn page types across all AI models

Combined LinkedIn citations across every AI model in the selected 30-day window. Percentages are calculated against all LinkedIn citations from May 18 - Jun 17, 2026, including categories not shown in this chart.

What this means for you

Across all AI models combined, written content dominates LinkedIn citations: Pulse articles account for 37.67% and regular posts for 32.19%, together roughly 70% of everything AI cites from the platform. Company pages follow at 13.35%.

Everything else on LinkedIn is close to invisible: product pages (0.5%), LinkedIn Learning (0.34%), help articles (0.34%), and showcase pages (0.26%) barely register. If your LinkedIn strategy centers on a polished page instead of publishing, AI engines have almost nothing to cite.

How to act on it

  • Make long-form Pulse articles a standing part of your LinkedIn program. They're the single most citable format on the platform, and most companies still only publish short feed posts.
  • Treat your company page as a citation surface, not a brochure: keep the about section, offerings, and stats current, because at 13.35% of citations it's often the LinkedIn page AI engines pull brand facts from.
  • Deprioritize showcase pages (0.26%) and product pages (0.5%) for GEO purposes. That content earns citations only when it's republished as an article or post.

OpenAI LinkedIn page types in ChatGPT responses

LinkedIn citation formats in ChatGPT responses. Percentages are calculated against all LinkedIn citations from May 18 - Jun 17, 2026, including categories not shown in this chart.

What this means for you

ChatGPT uses LinkedIn very differently from every other engine: company pages (23.84%) and even the LinkedIn homepage (22.55%) top its citation mix, while Pulse articles manage only 8.77%. ChatGPT treats LinkedIn as a company directory, a place to verify who a business is, what it does, and who works there, rather than as a source of expert commentary.

How to act on it

  • For ChatGPT visibility, invest in your company page the way you'd invest in a Wikipedia entry: complete, factual, and current. It's the LinkedIn surface ChatGPT reaches for most (23.84%).
  • Keep job listings accurate and descriptive; at 8.02% of ChatGPT's LinkedIn citations they punch far above their weight and often answer "what does this company do / who are they hiring" style prompts.
  • Don't rely on thought-leadership articles to reach ChatGPT users. Pulse articles get just 8.77% here versus 42-45% on Google's engines. Route that content to where it works.

Google LinkedIn page types in Google AI Mode responses

LinkedIn citation formats in Google's conversational AI Mode. Percentages are calculated against all LinkedIn citations from May 18 - Jun 17, 2026, including categories not shown in this chart.

What this means for you

Google AI Mode is the most article-hungry engine of the four: Pulse articles take 44.85% of its LinkedIn citations, with posts a distant second at 27.37% and company pages at 10.71%. When Google's conversational search wants professional expertise, it reaches for long-form, bylined writing, not feed chatter or brand pages.

How to act on it

  • Publish substantive Pulse articles on the questions your buyers ask Google. With a 44.85% citation share, no other LinkedIn format comes close in AI Mode.
  • Structure articles for extraction: a question-style headline, a direct answer up front, and scannable subheadings mirror how AI Mode assembles its conversational responses.
  • Encourage your executives and subject-matter experts to author articles under their own names. Author-bylined expertise is exactly the content profile this 45% share rewards.

Gemini LinkedIn page types in Google AI Overviews

LinkedIn citation formats in Google AI Overview responses. Percentages are calculated against all LinkedIn citations from May 18 - Jun 17, 2026, including categories not shown in this chart.

What this means for you

AI Overviews mirrors AI Mode's preference for substance: Pulse articles lead at 42.25%, posts follow at 27.72%, and company pages take 12.86%. It also has the highest share for LinkedIn's "top content" aggregation pages at 8.14%. Google's classic-search AI layer picks up LinkedIn's own curated collections, which reward consistent topical posting.

How to act on it

  • Repurpose your best-performing blog content as LinkedIn Pulse articles. At 42.25% of AI Overview citations from LinkedIn, they're a second doorway into Google's AI results for content you've already written.
  • Aim for LinkedIn's aggregated top-content surfaces by picking one theme and posting consistently on it; that 8.14% share goes to accounts LinkedIn itself ranks as leading voices on a topic.
  • Skip homepage-style brand plays here. AI Overviews cited the LinkedIn homepage exactly 0% of the time, so visibility comes only from what you publish.

Perplexity LinkedIn page types in Perplexity responses

LinkedIn citation formats in Perplexity responses. Percentages are calculated against all LinkedIn citations from May 18 - Jun 17, 2026, including categories not shown in this chart.

What this means for you

Perplexity is the one engine where ordinary feed posts (41.88%) beat Pulse articles (32.46%). Its retrieval values fresh, conversational takes from practitioners over formal long-form writing. Company pages sit at 13.09%, in line with other engines, while top-content pages (1.88%) matter far less here than on Google's engines.

How to act on it

  • Post directly to the feed about timely, specific topics (product comparisons, market shifts, practitioner tips). On Perplexity, a strong post (41.88% share) is worth more than a polished article.
  • Write posts that stand alone as answers: a clear claim, supporting numbers or examples, and no "link in comments" gymnastics, so Perplexity can quote them directly.
  • Keep articles in the mix for Perplexity too. At 32.46% they're still a third of its LinkedIn citations, so the two formats compound rather than compete.
