Connect REST API to Promptwatch
Overview
Everything you see in the Promptwatch dashboard is available over a documented REST API. Pull visibility scores, prompts, responses, citations, and crawler data into your data warehouse, internal dashboards, client reporting, or custom alerting — on your schedule, in your format.
The API goes beyond read-only reporting. Content generation endpoints let you create AEO articles programmatically with the same brief options as the app (branding, internal linking, language). Topics endpoints let you organize prompts from your own pipelines. Social endpoints expose the Reddit and YouTube citations behind your visibility, and page tracker endpoints monitor the URLs you care about most.
API v2 is the current version, with v1 maintained for legacy integrations. Every request authenticates with an API key in the X-API-Key header. Keys can be scoped to a single project or created at the organization level (passing a project ID per request), and read-only keys are supported for safely sharing access. How it works
- 1.Create an API key under Settings → API Keys in your Promptwatch dashboard — project-scoped, organization-wide, or read-only.
- 2.Authenticate requests with the X-API-Key header against the v2 API; organization keys pass a project ID per request.
- 3.Explore the interactive docs or import the Postman collection to test endpoints in minutes.
- 4.Build: schedule exports to your warehouse, wire up dashboards, or generate content from your own pipelines.
