What is LogicMonitor SiteMonitor?
LogicMonitor SiteMonitor checks websites from locations outside the customer's network. A customer can use those hosted checkpoints to see whether a public service is reachable and how it performs. LogicMonitor also supports internal checks from a collector inside the customer's environment, which are separate from this external traffic.
Web Checks issue GET, HEAD, or POST requests to one or more URLs chosen in the monitor. They can cover a configured sequence and support authentication when the customer supplies it. Ping Checks measure network reachability without loading an HTML page.
Every SiteMonitor request uses LogicMonitor SiteMonitor/1.0, according to the operator. Since an external check can run from several geographic checkpoints, its source may change between requests. LogicMonitor advises matching the user agent or adding a custom header to the individual check instead of depending on checkpoint addresses that may change.
SiteMonitor is an operational probe, not a content crawler. LogicMonitor gives it no AI search or training purpose, and its configured requests are not a signal that an answer engine has indexed the site. Denying an active check can instead cause monitoring failures or incomplete performance measurements.
