What is StatusCake Uptime?
Regular requests to one URL can come from a StatusCake Uptime test configured by a customer. An HTTP test checks whether the endpoint returns the expected result. The customer can also require a final URL, match text in the response, send POST data, or choose a HEAD test when the body is not needed.
StatusCake identifies its normal crawls with a user agent containing StatusCake, but the test owner can set another user agent or supply custom headers. As a result, the saved test configuration is more reliable than a guessed universal token when you are tracing an unfamiliar request.
The initial check runs from a selected or randomly assigned monitoring region. If it detects downtime, the customer can have StatusCake run confirmation checks from other servers in that region before the site is marked down or an alert is sent. Those confirmations can explain several closely spaced requests after one failed response.
StatusCake Uptime measures availability for the account that created the test. It does not build an AI search index or collect pages for model training. Finding and fixing real downtime can restore access for all visitors, but the monitor's request has no direct influence on AI answers.
