What is Google PageRenderer?

Google PageRenderer retrieves and renders a page when a user invokes a Google product function that needs that URL. The user supplies the target indirectly through the product. PageRenderer is therefore a requested fetcher, not an agent that roams the web to discover pages.

Rendering can produce more than one access-log entry. The initial HTML may refer to resources needed to construct the page, so one requested render can generate a compact group of related requests. That pattern differs from a crawler moving through many independent pages over time.

Google places tools triggered by users in its user-triggered fetcher category and says those fetchers generally ignore robots.txt.
