What is MailRUBot?
MailRUBot fetches web resources for the Mail.ru email service. Its recorded user agent is Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Linux x86_64; Mail.RU_Bot/2.0; +http://go.mail.ru/help/robots), with Mail.RU_Bot as the stable token.
The record describes a mail fetcher, not a crawler that discovers sites for a general index. A request therefore shows that a Mail.ru mail feature needed the URL or resource. It does not show that a Mail.ru user visited the page in a browser, and the available data does not specify which email feature initiated the fetch.
Nothing in this entry assigns MailRUBot an AI search or model-training purpose. Allowing it may let the relevant Mail.ru email workflow retrieve public content, but it does not improve eligibility for AI answers or citations. Blocking it is likewise not a general AI training opt-out.
MailRUBot is recorded as respecting robots.txt. The entry has no verified IP status or request-signature method, so the user-agent string can classify traffic but cannot authenticate it. Keep private mail links, account pages, and other restricted content behind normal access controls.
