What is WordCountBot?
WordCountBot belongs to Weglot's Website Word Count tool. A person enters a website URL and starts a scan, after which the crawler visits public pages and counts words found in their HTML source. Weglot says that this includes text in SEO tags, not only words visible in the main article body.
The service reports counts by URL and a site total. Weglot describes the total as a unique count that avoids counting repeated words or sentences more than once across the site. Pages that require a visitor to log in are outside the tool's stated scan scope.
Cloudflare has observed Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; WordCountBot/0.1;), which contains the stable WordCountBot token. Robots behavior is unknown in this catalog, and Cloudflare's bot directory marks it as not following robots.txt. There is no recorded signature directory or verified IP identity for authenticating an individual request.
Despite its Preview category in this dataset, WordCountBot does not build message cards or a public search index. Its documented result is a word-count report, with no supported effect on AI answers or model training.
