Overview
If your site is served through Amazon CloudFront, its access logs already contain every AI crawler visit. Promptwatch connects through CloudFront standard logging v2 delivered via Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose, turning raw access logs into a clear picture of how AI platforms crawl your content — request paths, status codes, user agents, and referrers for every AI bot hit.
You don't run any infrastructure: a Firehose delivery stream with an HTTP endpoint destination forwards logs straight to Promptwatch, authenticated with your project API key. From there, requests are classified across 25+ AI crawlers — training bots like GPTBot and ClaudeBot, search indexers, and the citation fetches made when users click your links in AI answers — and surfaced as trends, top pages, and a filterable log explorer.

How it works
- 1.Create a project API key in Promptwatch.
- 2.Create a Kinesis Data Firehose stream (Direct PUT) with the Promptwatch HTTP endpoint as its destination and your API key as the access key.
- 3.Enable CloudFront standard logging v2 on your distribution with the Firehose stream as the logging destination.
- 4.AI crawler visits start appearing in your Crawler Logs dashboard.
